Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the most powerful imaging modality currently in our medical diagnostic arsenal – and it is only getting better. This talk will focus on some of the advances currently in the pipeline and some others that may emerge over the next decade. We will discuss parallel techniques used to scan more rapidly, compressed sensing, MR volumetric studies to predict Alzheimer’s, ultrashort TE, diffusion and perfusion imaging, high temperature superconducting RF coils, arterial spin labeling, hyperpolarized C-13 spectroscopy, intraoperative MRI, and MR-guided focused ultrasound.
